I am planning on having a personal website and linking many businesses and services through their affiliate programs. Has anyone ever tried this? I only expect to make a very small amount of money, but I am curious.

I made some cash from my Amazon affiliate program. Limit your affiliates and concentrate on getting good affiliates that coincide with your web site. For example, make believe your site is going to be about crocheting. Maybe an affiliate to Amazon where you highlight different books about crocheting and an affiliate program with a store that sells crocheting stuff.

Target your audience and try to keep your front page as clean as possible by limiting the banner ads. Putting a whole bunch of affiliate links on a secondary page will probably be useless as folks won’t surf to a page of links just to go somewhere to buy something random.
